While ACC-SANE, Inc regularly serves the above-listed areas, a client will never be turned away based on residence or location of the assault.
Since June of 2006, ACC-SANE has been conducting foresnsic examinations in the Family Protection Center. The Family Protection Center is a single location that facilitates collaborative services from the Ahtnes-Clarke County Police Department, Clarke County Department of Family and Children Services, ACC-SANE, Project Safe, the Sexual Assault Center of Northeast Georgia and the Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and the Clarke County Solicitor-General’s Office. This Facility provides space for these multidisciplinary agencies and is used to conduct physical examinations of victims, record adult and child forensic interviews, provide family and individual counseling, and carry out the criminal investigations and prosecutorial efforts necessary to address crimes and child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence in the community. All ten counties served by ACC-SANE receive services at the Family Protection Center.
We provide services at no cost to the victim’s family in accordance with state and federal laws. ACC-SANE works collaboratively with various law enforcement agencies, prosecutors’ offices, advocacy organizations and the Department of Family and Children Services in multiple counties.
ACC-SANE, Inc. performs forensic medical exams for any adult or child who is sexually assaulted or sexually abused. Our specially trained nurses and advocates work hard to ensure that the men, women, and children we serve get the medical assistance and aftercare support that they need. Over the past five years, the needed response has inclined steadily of more than 11% each year.
